Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine is a multidisciplinary specialty that applies the principles of engineering and the life sciences to seeking out new treatments that could mitigate or even prevent the deterioration that tissues suffer from due to wear and tear, aging, or disease.

Its appearance has brought about a revolution in the medical world. With regenerative medicine it is possible not just to relieve the symptoms of a disease but also to let the human body use its own resources to cure itself. This can be attributed to the efforts made by the scientific community to explore in greater depth and come to grips with the basics of cell biology and to the progress made in the understanding of biomaterials.
